The Icelandic Green Building Council

The Icelandic Green Building Council (IGBC) is a consultation venue for companies, municipalities and public entities in the construction sector with the common goal of increasing the use of sustainable construction methods and land-use planning.
The principal object of the Green Building Council is to be a leading venue in the field of sustainable development in land-use planning, design, construction, operation and maintenance of installations in Iceland. Furthermore, it is the role of the Icelandic Green Building Council to formulate policies and to lead the discussion on sustainable methods and focal points in accordance with international criteria on sustainable development in general.
Teiknistofan Tröð has signed the charther for Nordic Built. Nordic Built is a Nordic initiative to accelerate the development of sustainable building concepts.The Nordic Built programme will combine key Nordic strengths, provide attractive and effective arenas for collaboration and realise concrete projects that demonstrate world-class scalable solutions.

Teiknistofan Tröð has attended the course - Ecobox startpakke. NAL - Ecobox is a part of the Norwegian architects association. Its role is to promote environmental knowledge and interdisciplinary collaboration between architects, planners and others in the construction industry. Ecobox Startpakke for architects provides an overview of energy measures, new energy regulations, methods of interdisciplinary collaboration and relevant digital tools.
